Okay, well many of you may not be old enough to remember when it was hard to distinguish The Gap from Miller's Outpost (which became Anchor Blue and went out of business this month). But, The Gap decided to go for a more refined look and left Miller's in the dust. The Gap now brings a certain sense of safe, affordable style to buyers.
In 2008, I posted about the scooter boxers that they sold. I bought 2 pairs of those for my BF. Now, pal Nancy D. alerts me to some cool baby clothes with scooters on them. While one body suit (below) looks classic, the other items look more like modern Vespas.
another body suit:
and this reversible jacket, which is scooteriffic on one side and plain black with one scooter over the left chest when reversed:
The set also includes a Beenie and a one-piece jumpsuit. Get them now while they are on sale!

New Scooter Collectibles
Some newly spotted scooter collectibles...
The only way that I could get my hands on this Tiffany Scooter Charm that starts at $175 alone and goes up to $1,075 if you get it with a necklace, would be to have Santa get it for me. =wishful thinking= Thanks to Norbert and Tammy for tipping me off to this.
Tammy also let me know about something much more affordable: Scooter Girl Long Sleeve Tee by Gymboree is on sale now for $15.49, down from $19.75.
Check out the detail:
Got any scooter stuff to share? Email me about it.
This isn't specifically for scooters, but you might want to get your budding scooterist his/her own pair of scooting (motorcycle) boots from The Children's Place:

Cool Paul Frank items
I was just cruisin' the Paul Frank Industries site and found a few items that have scooters. First was a cartoon that you can watch online called , Going Twice where Julius rides a scooter. Access it at the Paul Frank site, under characters ->cartoons.

For purchasable merchandise, you can get a pair of girls undies with Worry Bear on them.

And a boy's tee with a scooter drawing.

Scooter Collector items
I've been super busy since I got back from New York. So, I'm a little backed up on posts. Wanted to share a few Scooter Collector items that I found on my travels.

This super-cute t-shirt was spotted at the Ben Sherman store in SoHo, NYC, but you can get them at the site right now for $19.99. And look at the cute 'lil hooligans they have in the kids section.

If I had kids I would dress them like the Little Rascals and in Ben Sherman stuff. None of that baggy pants--underwear hanging out crud.

Jon discovered this scooter model at a flea market for $15. Often you see these with clocks in one of the cowls, but this just had a shiny glass crystal. Not compelling enough to buy, but good enough for an iPhone pic.

I got a sneak peek at this Paul Frank matching game that has some tiles with scooters in them (I think there are 2 different scooter images). Go Paul Frank...still representing!

Also spotted this card at Hallmark.

Not my cup of tea. Not into the style and it played the song "Perfect Day" by Hoku which means noting to me. Who is Hoku?

I did buy 2 copies of this card which has a girl on a scooter mounted on a spring so that she =boings= around. Inside it says, "Can't wait to see where next year takes you. Happy Birthday." Cute for the scooter gal in your life. $2.99

Spring Catalogs Love Scooters

I was flipping through the pages of two catalogs recently and found some scooters. J Crew (which I wish I could afford & fit into) has a Rome theme going and combined it with their wedding line for a scooter wedding shot, complete with a trail of tin cans. Keeping with the Rome theme, they chose the popular P125 Vespa.
Lands End also chose to use a scooter in their recent catalog. It's a yellow Vespa GT. Both catalogs are using scooters to illustrate the sunny, carefree feelings of spring, of which I am all for...even if it is raining and windy outside as I type this. How I long for one of those breezy, sunny days!

Scooter Atitude for Kids

Now, here's a shirt that I wish came in my size! This camo shirt for kids has a big, busy scooter graphic on it of a sassy lady on a Vespa. The shirt has shoulder snaps for easier on/off for the little ones. It is a product of ArmyKid a London children's boutique clothing company. ArmyKid's site has it in sizes from 0-11 years, but I doubt that the snaps come on the larger sizes. :) You can also order it in a long- and short-sleeve version. The ArmyKid website but I also found a les expensive, yet likely more limited variety version at Not on the High Street website. Either way, they are both in the UK and shipping charges may be cost-prohibitive. But, check it out for yourself.

You can also get the shirt in another style, although the photo doesn't make it look comfortable.

Smart Baby Bibs

Modified Clothing's new baby bbs are very cute. Just what the budding scooterist-to-be needs! This would make a great shower gift for the expectant parents. It's 100% cotton and comes in two colors. Since Modified is brand neutral, the bib comes in a Lambretta and a Vespa version. Perfect for those "mixed" households. :)

Gymboree Scooter Collection
Thanks to Nicky and Susan for tipping me off to the new Gymboree "When in Rome" collection. It is clothing for newborn to 24 month old kids that has cute scooters on them. If I had a baby, I'd be in trouble. The whole line appears to be on sale at their website. If you don't have a Gymboree near you, logon now and get that credit card ready...I'll have a full report on the items in the next Scooter Collector column.
